Communications and Media Commission (CMC) Supports and sponsors the Iraqi Writers Union and honors the winners of its youth literary competition

The General Union of Writers in Iraq announced the winners of the literary competition for youth, which was held by the union under the slogan (Literature is the conscience of nation, and young writers are its heart)

The announcement came in Diwaniyah within the third Jewelers Festival which was held in the hall of Culture and Arts Palace attended by writers from all cities of Iraq, during the two days (19th & 20th of March 2022). 

Dr. Mujahid Abu Al-Hail – CMC Board Member blessed  festival organizers and congratulated the winners of young writers, wishing them constant success. 

Abu al-Hail affirmed that CMC aims always to support  creative literary and artistic activities that are backing the national discourse. He explained. “This quest comes to consolidate the concepts of literature and art and to emphasize their role in community building”. 

The media spokesman for the Iraqi Writers Union - the poet Omar Al-Saray, thanked CMC for its essential support of this forum that event which cared about youth, culture, and literature. He added that investment of young energies is the investment of hope.  Jewelers Festival and Youth Competition are great starting point for discovering original talents.     

Two members of CMC Commissioners Board Dr. Mujahid Abu al-Hail and Professor Abdul Azim al-Saleh attended festival activities that were held in Baghdad, where Iraqi Palms Organization hosted the first session of poetry readings on the occasion of the International Day of Poetry.
